In addition, the YMCA’s benevolent activities support marginalised youth, social housing, the homeless and school breakfast programs.
YMCA Camping is a long standing activity of the YMCA and is conducted at our Camp Warrawee, Camp Bundalong and Camp North Pine facilities on the Northside of Brisbane. We have bold plans for the growth and development of YMCA Camping.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria A tertiary qualification in research, social science, community development, psychology, project management Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, manage and lead projects in a complex service environment Demonstrated ability and relevant experience in the application of data to support the development of policies, planning, experience with funding submissions and service delivery in an Alcohol and other drug Treatment setting. A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and the broad range of contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal people. A full time position as a facilitator in a highly regarded and well-established Christian based outdoor education centre that caters for approx. 230 camps annually with up to 12,000 people (schoolchildren, Cadets, sporting teams, church groups and corporate groups) Opportunity to be a part of an organisation that uses an ANZAC theme to reflect on our proud history, promote character development, and develop leadership and teambuilding skills to shape the future.
Emu Gully Adventure Education is based at Helidon near Toowoomba in Queensland. There are two campuses with the main campus at Helidon and a ‘wilderness’ Pindari campus near Ashford NSW. Helidon has two activity ‘streams’ with the standard ANZAC stream and a relatively new Adventure Camping stream.
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic facilitator to join our team for 2013. You will need a heart to serve Emu Gully, be committed to its vision to “inspire and empower people to live purpose filled lives in unity with others through the development of their character" and be aligned with its values – Character, Respect, Walk the Talk, Safety and a "Can Do" Attitude.
Selection Criteria: Desirable: tertiary qualifications or experience in leisure management, outdoor education, education, human movement, childhood development, social work, youth work or psychology Minimum qualifications or equivalent experience: Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Recreation (covering navigation, low ropes course and artificial surface climbing), or a willingness to obtain this qualification. Current Senior First Aid and Bronze Medallion (or commitment to obtain). Driver Licence (Manual) with MR desirable, Gun Licence and Boat Licence (or commitment to obtain).
