Making it Happen

One of the the great things about the Great Aussie Camp Out is the grassroots way it is growing! This isn't a big government driven event with lots of publicity and celebrity backing - this is you and me and Uncle Fred and Tom from round the corner all getting together to make it happen cos' we want to!

We think it is a great idea and we're going to show them that we can! In the tradition of good old Queensland 'know how, can do'; 'bring a plate' and DIY, we are going to make GACO in Queensland the best it can be and the best in Australia!

So what are you doing to make it happen?

Here are a few more ideas:

	Get your neighbours round for a barbie and sleepover - in the back yard!
	Organise your kid's school P&C group to hold a campout in the school grounds
	Talk your local council and organise a community event!
	Arrange a big family get together at a local camping spot - enjoy a night out under the stars!
	Join an over night horse trek!
	See what your local Scouts or Guides are doing - go along and give them a hand!
	Talk to your local camping store and arrange a special prize voucher for the best camping story, or biggest local group or ...?
	Load up the tinny with a few supplies, go fishing for the day and camp on a remote beach somewhere
	Go online at GACO in Queensland for a list of campsites that are hosting GACO campers and GACO events
	Register with the national site and be part of GACO nationwide!
	Check us out on facebook, sign up and become a FAN!
	Contact your local Caravan Club - have a night out with the club!
	Do a 'jolly swagman' - camp by a billabong!
